We are a nationwide hedgehog conservation association which promotes the conservation of our native hedgehogs in Germany through public relations and publications giving comprehensive guidance to members of the public who find a hedgehog, wildlife hospitals, veterinary surgeons etc. on the correct care of hedgehogs in need of help. In addition we collate and facilitate research studies into wild hedgehogs and circulate current knowledge to all interested parties. Pro Igel is an association of voluntary specialists, not a members’ society with subscriptions; we fund our extensive work exclusively through donations.
